Jared taking Keith's intolerance to spice into account when telling him if something will be spicy or not is the most pure form of platonic love
Reminds me of when my dad, who loves spice, ended up as my taste tester for my wimpy palate (and stomach). I guess you could say… papa’s home?
My dad and I are like that for my mom. I love spicy food, my dad loves spicy food, my mom can not stand it. We’re always the first to try queso or salsa to see if she could handle it, and if I’m making dinner I make my dad an i spicy versions and my mom a mild version :)
for real, I love seeing Jared's growth on the channel lately. Seeing him confront and dismantle bits of his toxic masculinity to live a life he enjoys and connecting with himself and his people is so stinkin' wonderful :)
Lol yeah when YB said it's not spicy I was like don't trust her! 😅
my friends do this for me too and this makes me feel extra grateful for them lol :D
Keith knowing YB isn't going to like the tripe -- and the side eye waiting for her to try it -- so wholesome. The friendship between these three made this video, I'll be asking a couple friends if they want to join me for Korean BBQ just for these vibes
Tripe isn't that bad. It's a bit chewy. During college, my Korean friends / co-workers took me. I just ate what they ordered.
But, ordering it over other meat wouldn't be my choice.
Tripe takes a long time to cook. The server should have advised them to put it in the hot pot first and wait a good 10-15 minutes before trying to eat it. Also, for a quick cooking format, such as hot pot, they should have sliced it into thinner ribbons, so it would cook more easily.
@@HKim0072 big yup on that one, i grew up eating tripe since im chinese and i feel like it might be an acquired taste for some because of the texture
i read this just before it happened made me laugh so much more!! thank you!
So happy to see YB back in front of the camera! She’s a really phenomenal addition and I love the interaction with her, Keith, and Jared!
Who knew she can eat a lot when she’s so slender 😃👍🏼☮️
Petition for Keith, Yb and Jared to go to Korea for a food tour series PLSS???
With Korean Englishman as their food guide 😂
Pro tip for hot pot: you always put the veggies in first before dipping the meat! The veggies will make the broth more sweet and flavorful. Enjoy the meat as the veggie slowly cooks and absorb all the broth. Then eat the veggies last , it will be full of flavor and juicy af😊😊😊
let's just say there are quite a few ways to do it. I typically go meat first and veggies whenever the broth gets too oily. My wife is with me on the order, but take the greens out quickly before they lose too much of the crispy snappy texture. The way you do it, the broth won't be up to temperature when you cook the meat, or if it IS up to temp, your veggie would be overdone having them down for so long. That would be my household's opinion. So yeah, definitely different preferences.
It really depends on the broth. There is no rule to how you eat hot pot, but the most common way is meat first into the broth. The meat makes the broth more flavorful while it cooks down. The veggies go in after especially if your eating mala or anything with oils, because the greens first would absorb all the oils and flavor leaving the greens all oily and unpleasant to eat. Mushrooms will do the same, but also produce more water into the broth making it more bland. noodles go in last at the end once the broth has boiled to the point of maximum flavor.
I prefer putting radish and corn first and maybe fishball and seafood to add more flavour. Some broths are already rich tho so it doesn't matter
i completely dissagree, meat goes in first and makes the broth so much better, the fat from the meat melts off into the broth, then you add the vegetables so they can cook through multiple batches of the meat because of how quick it cooks and by the end you toss in some brick noodle and its flavored by every round of meat and you have well cooked vegetables with it.
But also hotpot is basically no rules, do whatever you like, just my opinion
This is really different from how my family does it which is veggies after the meat - sometimes there are veggies that have too distinct of a flavour or soaks up too much broth/spiciness that you'd wanna do it after!
I really appreciate Keith for doing his research on the cuisine and culture everytime 👏👏👏 I thought YB would be the only one introducing the Korean cuisine because she's Korean but I was so happy to see Keith explain!💖 Thanks for the thought and effort guys🙇♀️🙇♀️
Keith saying "grab a ukulele" When YB said this was her apology video is pure gold
HIGHLIGHTTTTT
Said as such a throw away line, but it's so good!
Except that wasn't an apology video. She never said it was, people just misinterpreted the entire situation.
@@JulieWaters524 You're right, it was a way to copyright strike channels who speak out against her
@@CardinalDrake And? That has nothing to do with the misinformation being spread about that video and the entire situation.
"It's not that spicy" Keith's immediate look of doubt into the camera 👁👁 girl we still remember you on all those spicy challenges 😂😭
Keith with the age etiquette...hilarious how he was insisting that everyone recognises him as the oldest in the group😂😅.
The “radish cold soup” aka translated water kimchi is SOOOO good. He’s very right when he said “if you could eat a drink in the summer.” That’s the best way to explain it
I'm 39 and never had Korean barbecue or hotpot because I just assumed there'd be none around me in Florida but I just looked it up and there are 3 with a 4th opening soon! I'm definitely going to try them asap!
Where there’s a church, there’s a Korean community. Lots of Koreans have shops in Orlando.
@@saynotop2w The other Florida haha.
YB did a fantastic job with the edits! Love seeing her again in a Try Guys video.
I love the idea of YB and Jared being the new food babies
I don’t think Poppa has what it takes 🤣
@@Chet_Thornbushel Oh come on, he's a total babe! 😉
@@lady8janehe’s a snuggle bear
@@lady8jane he is but he can’t handle stuffing himself into oblivion like YB can lol
Holy. Shit. YESSSSSSSSS! 🥰😯🥰
I really love having YB say each food or drink’s name in Korean!
I had Korean Barbeque about once every two weeks with friends when I lived in the city. Also learned Soju knocks me on my butt omg. I love the Green Grape one. I just found a Korean Barbeque place in my city and had my birthday there. We had Barbeque and Hot Pot. It was awesome and I was a little overwhelmed with deliciousness. The owners even make their own sauces and kimchi. I had tried kimchi before and felt it was too sharp tasting for me. This one was more like a relish and it reminded me more of pickled veggies which I love (my parents make Mediterranean food).
My dad and I were into Squid Game and K dramas during quarantine. We'd like text each other what we watched and kind of rank them. Also found out that Tteokbokki is delicious and is commonly in a spicy sweet sauce (was not aware there was a sauce).
I’m a gal who comes from a family with some of the most boring food. My mom is British and not especially great at cooking and my parents never chose to go to Asian (or really any diverse) food places. I’m often intimidated about trying more diverse food options because I don’t know what I’m doing when ordering or what I should try or what to expect. Honestly, videos like this are super helpful and make me want to explore more. Thanks!
Nothing beats Korean bbq❤😊
definitely think the two meals should've been done on separate days. wish you were able to do the "secret" items/actions at Haidilao!
YB is not only the Queen of Food but also Food History, she’s like a dictionary of food 😅
She's a real foodie. Real foodies just don't go out to restaurants to eat the delicious foods, they start reading about the history of the dishes or who and where it was invented, etc. I did this when I went to New York and basically it was an amazing culinary and history experience of the American immigrants' ingenuity and survival. The stories that come with food (especially the mom and pop shops that were started 2-3 generations back) have so much beautiful stories weaved through their menus.
If you're ever able to go to New Orleans, I highly recommend taking a food history tour. The history of combining cultures from the South, Caribbean, and traders from all over the world is fascinating, and delicious.
@@akirebara I read your whole comment man & 100% agree with you man.
Just because someone loves eating in general let alone doing mukbangs on YT like shouldn’t really make them 100% successful..
For me, I love my background as to where my parents came from & the food they presented me, yes I do love to eat them but I also love to make them & share the history behind my parents food backgrounds too 😅
Also because she's korean too ❤❤
Lol I hope that kid will learn in the future (anywhere he is, whenever he needs to) that he can see different paths around the seats and tables to get back to his table . They were sat in a very spacious seating area 😅
I loved learning the history and that Keith knew the rules of what to do with the drinks at the Koren BBQ place. Such a fun episode
Korean is such a pretty language. I could listen to YB speak all day
I'm a Korean Kiwi (New Zealander), and when I shared a flat with my uni friends, they initially disliked Kimchi. However, they gradually became accustomed to it when we cooked it with Korean BBQ. When I made Kimchi stew (with plenty of meat), some of my mates mentioned it tasted like their mom's good old casserole. Once they acquired a taste for it, they began incorporating it into their sandwiches and salads. Sometimes, I even caught them raiding the fridge in the middle of the night with the 'munchies,' eating raw Kimchi with their fingers. I honestly don't know the reason behind this. Now they go and buy their own...
I love that YB was able to explain the history and pronunciation of these experiences. It's so cool!!
I wanna see YB and mythical chef Josh at the same table just talking about food the whole time
Yess! That would be so good!
Incredible idea.
YES YES YES!!
Yes, how can we get this to happen???
Get her on the Josh and Nicole’s podcast
YB Is stunning. So glad to see this group together
Would love to see Keith try Kamayan. Filipino food is amazing and doesn't get enough love. It's like Korean BBQ but it's all already cooked and you eat it with your hands XD would make a great video.
I don't even like eating pizza with my hands
As an autistic person and someone with to many forms of anxiety lmao I've always been really intimidated by new foods and especially by different cultural cuisines then the mostly American food I eat everyday. I'm really sensitive to flavor. (I didn't own salt until my partner started eating at my house, for example of how extreme my personal sensitivity is) Things that are well seasoned or have clashing or mixing flavors overwhelm and overstimulate me and I always get worried when I go to a new restaurant or cafe and can't understand or don't know what things on the menu are.
What I'm trying to say- that's why I really enjoy the food videos Keith and the try staff put out! Eat the menu but also things like this, where they go and try or even just show off food they enjoy. Cause they tend to take the time to explain what they're eating, Keith does a good job of describing flavors too, and I really appreciate that YB translated or read everything out so you could hear the pronunciation and proper name. It makes trying new stuff for me feel a lot intimidating!
I recently went to a Taco truck for the first time after I watched Keith, Zach and Garrick go to all those taco trucks lol
I see KBB and hotpot, so I have to watch. Home made kimchi on rice is just delish :)
you have to have cloudy wine with korean pancake!
Now eat Chinese bbq and Korean hotpot. 🤣 They are actually different from each other. Korean hotpot usually put everything in the pot and boil it all at once’s and it’s paired with a lot of side dishes and a bowl of rice. Chinese bbq is mostly skewers that is seasoned and cooked over coals. Everything is cooked while skewered even the vegetables. It’s a good pair with beer.
Thank you for having me!! What else should we try & learn about? 🥰
I love your video edits YB!
You should do a video with Josh from Mythical Kitchen!! He is so knowledgeable about food and so are you!
Do you think you guys can do Japanese food next? 👉🏿👈🏿
I'm thinking something like Caribbean food! Dominican vs. Puerto Rican meals maybe?
Sri Lankan!
You should definitely try meals from different parts of India.. South, North-east, Central, West, East, Coastal, and North.. there are a lot of cuisines to pick from India
of all the impressive things Try Guys have done... getting royalty-free KPOP in the background is somehow most impressive to me lol
I know marrying Becky was the best day of Keith’s life, but that wagyu ribeye looked like a close second😂
I wanna see a Southeast Asian food tour! Try all the Laotian, Thai, Cambodian food out there!!
Fun fact: Haidilao has a secret phrase you can say to take the soup home with you! Idk if it works for all branches, but it does for the one in Thailand.
I love hearing YB speak Korean! What a multi-talented bilingual queen!
Multilingual! She's learning German at the moment as well ❤️
Americans are so easy to impress when it comes to languages 🤣
@@LovelyAngel. How??

How is that impressive at all?
The way Keith reacted to the flavor bomb combinations is literally the way that i react and im korean. So happy yall enjoyed it!
Please consider trying Peruvian food!!! I would love to see what you guys think about it. It would be a pleasure and honor to see you guys try some of my culture's cuisine. ❤
I would've passed out in a food coma an hour into the Korean BBQ, and will be full a half hour later, if I didn't stop eating. By the way, can you guys invite Zach and Eugene into the food episodes?
oh my! all that Korean food looks soooo good!!!!!
Interesting how in our cultures there is like a set rules to follow when it comes to drinking. For example here in Latvia (at least in my family) only men pour alcohol for everyone and when you "cheers" with someone you have to look into their eyes as a sign of respect.
im so sorry but When keith was saying they had to have their drinks lower than him and Jared went " forever?" i COULDNT STOP LAUGHING
Jared seems like the absolute sweetest human. I’m so glad to see him in more videos!
The creativity of dishes such as sushi, hotpot, and Korean BBQ reflects the distinct culinary traditions across various Asian countries. Each country boasts its own charming and unique food culture, which adds to the richness of the global culinary landscape. I genuinely hope for collaborative efforts among Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines. It’s disheartening to see any discord among them, as I cannot take sides and feel saddened by any conflicts.
Dang i wished Eugene was in this video, he could have enjoyed the korean food with them as well
Me after this video immediately going to a kbbq on Friday and Chinese hot pot on Saturday haha. Have never had this before but always wanted to. I'm so excited! This video is perfect to get me even more hyped. We're going to celebrate my birthday so there will definitely be a lot of sake and soju involved hehe
I never understood why they film these on the same day. I’d be so full after the first appetizer
same day is fine, but not immediately after.... like wtf...
they're pretty far from where they normally shoot, but both locations are in the 626 so I def understand why. Still it sounds so painful
@@giyuwu1270 the guy with beard was having a tough time. I guess it is a job.
When I have hot pot or K BBQ, I have to skip the breakfast, only go at lunch time, then skip the dinner again.
I agree production should have been scheduled over 2 days. They could have made a reservation for Hai Dai Lao the following day. Poor Keith and Jared. YB could be a competitive eater 😲
Another episode of “Expensing Lunch” - no complaints, enjoying this series!
Love watching you eat and describe the flavours and we are over here just drooling..but when are you going to try some lebanese food! Huge variety of delicious food❤
Is YB my new favorite Try Guy? She needs more on camera time! She is a queen! ❤
I've got to stop watching these amazing food videos in the middle of the night when there's no possible way of me going to get good food like this.
So glad YB has been in more videos recently, she’s such a great personality
I love these ones with YB, Keith and others eating different foods. YB and Keith have good chemistry that is inclusive of others. And, we learn new things when they eat together. We’ll done. That POV camera doesn’t add much.
Oh my gosh!!!! I LOVE THIS! From the history to the cultural significance to have the go pro POV and of couse the amazing food, I absolutely would love to see more of these videos! Great job!
I really loved this episode. I think you should do more trying historic foods, and getting that educational experience to share with everyone but also keeping it fun as you do! Great episode. I recently resubbed, and am very impressed with this episode!
I love all these videos with YB, she is living her best life and we love to see it
Still waiting for The Try Guys go to Korea series! Eugene and YB can be their tour guide or they can collab to Josh and Ollie from Korean Englishman ❤
I've been struggling with ED my whole life and am having a flare up these days, so I watch videos like these to make me hungry. I got up partway through and got some food... shortly after I came back was the section about "thanks for eating with us" and I MAY be about to cry a little, especially since Jared is like, my favorite T_T
Proud of you 💜

Proud of you friend. I know how hard it can be.
Okay this video made me so happy!!!! YB, Keith, and Jared had a great energy and I was entertained by learning and now I really want hot pot and found a restaurant in my small little Midwest town I plan on going to ASAP!
I can't explain why, but I really enjoy watching YB eat.
So happy to see YB!!!!! She's so great on these videos
The comment about LA having the best KBBQ is accurate. I moved to Midwest and I miss good KBBQ so much. They ate all my faves: pork jawl, brisket, and big intestines. ❤ very wholesome video.
So happy to see Jared. He's a gem of a guy!

YB is a fantastic editor 🙌🥳
This video was amazing! I always love to see Jared and YB
You got so lucky with YB. She really is the perfect cohost! ❤
I love how open Keith and Jared are to trying new foods and they are so respectful! And clearly love having YB share her experience and culture. So many of us have memories of being children and having kids call our food weird or smelly, so this makes our inner kids feel happy :)
I love how you are also teaching us a little about how this would be enjoyed in Korea, I want to try all of this! Also I’d love more videos like this where you three go out for different cuisines!
i would be so happy if you guys tried vietnamese food, and stuff other than pho too! like bún bò huế, bánh xèo and bún chả
BUN BO HUE!!!!!
Banh xeo is so gasss I’m Mexican from LA but my homies dad is Vietnamese and put me on. It’s like a meaty pancake/omelette that tastes super American somehow.
I love the part when Keith just belts his heart out doing karaoke. I say 10/10, very impressive 👏👏💯
thanks for making my day better :> i love watching food adventures with yall :33
I like Jared so much. He is always just laid back and down for anything. He isnt hamming it up, he's just being himself. I would love to see him in so many more videos!! YB is awesome as always!!! You guys made it all look so good, but the only thing on both tables I would eat was salad and rice cake!!!! I don't have these restaurant options near me but chicken doesnt seem to be on the menu so it would be a no for me anyway. Bummer.
I always love Keith Eats videos but I cannot tell you how happy I've been with having Jared in so many videos. He's so hysterical. Also I love learning with YB!
I waited until I was eat hotpot to watch this video! So glad you guys had a lot of fun! YB is glowing as always!
Loved this video! Entertaining and informative. So great to see them have fun together and enjoy their meals!
I was amused with how shocked they were as they butterflied the pig intestines. I literally do this to my hotdogs every time. It's a game changer, try it next time! 😂
This was so fun and informative!! Love the research behind the video!❤️
I love that they were able to have a cultural consultant in YB- it really adds a lot to the video!
Always great to see YB there to show us how delicious food can get

Seeing their enjoyment at the lunchbox makes me hope that it'll be a dish on without a recipe or phoning it in
this trio is such a good balance for these food videos!!
The noodle dance break is something special!!!!
I had hotpot today and can barely function! I don’t know how you were able to have both in one day 😂 great video, I loved it!!
The reason Korean BBQ in LA is considered the best in the world is because there is an access to quality produce and meats that was previously lacking in South Korea. Up until fairly recently, South Korea was considered a poorer country where it was harder to access high quality ingredients. Nowadays, cities like Seoul have caught up to the LA region and depending on who you ask, you'll find a difference of opinion on where the best Korean BBQ in the world is located. Some now say LA is the best for a more traditional style, while Seoul is best for experimentation and innovation.
I love that they’re always so appreciative of different cultures. They laugh and have fun but they always show respect, ask questions when they don’t know and go back to the history and origins.
Ugh I wanna go to that Kbbq place so bad. Everything looked so good and authentic. I can’t get tartare or intestines anywhere near me
Jared being a good baby is the best thing to come out of Trypocalypse
I loved hearing YB read off the menu in Korean after Keith. 👏👏👏 Such a beutiful language!
I love the girl with the neon green bangs. Her shock at seeing the presentation at Haidilao was very entertaining.
There’s a small chain that I go to when I visit my family that has both. They have a grill in the center of the table, and a boiling pot at each seat. Amazing.
With ETM ending, I’m happy to see they’re still making food content! Keith deserves to just eat good food now, after years of chains.
Eat the Menu is done?
I think I ate at the same baekjeong right after this video was filmed and if I did I am sad that I had just missed Keith, YB, and Jared
The Yukhwae(Korean Beef tar tar) is so good at Baekjong...
