Guys Wear Dresses For a Week

I love that Maggie’s issue isn’t that Zach is wearing dresses it’s that he’s wear ill-fitting dresses.

Zach needs to find dresses that suit his aesthetic. A giant wacky cozy sweater dress. A wrap dress in a fun print. Things that look like what he already enjoys wearing. And I second the motion to have Eugene help style the accessories.

Jared picked the most flattering looks and really nailed the androgyny that dresses can give like they looked so natural on him!

Jared's 'fit for Starbucks is truly fierce. I love it. He totally pulled it together in a way that was casual and looked like him. I think some of the dresses would have worked better if they fit their bodies better or had more thought into the overall look. With more time, I think they could have all found their style and slayed it hard.

I think the difference between confidence levels of Jared and the others is the dresses seem to look like they're more closely tailored to him. There aren't as many large gaps under the armpits/side of the chest, the waists are properly cinched when appropriate, and they seem to match his style/vibe. I think that's also why the poofy dress looked so good on Jonny. It looked like it was made for him. All love to the guys for trying this out, I know it's intimidating (especially in public) and they did so well!

As a plus size AFAB, finding a dress that doesn't give me body dismorphia is so hard, but seeing Jared in so many different dresses AND LOOKING ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, made me feel so much better! I am so proud of all of these guys for owning it! And all of the ppl supporting them are so amazing 🥺❤️❤️

As a dancer, I’ve just become so accustomed to always wearing skorts or modesty shorts under any skirts and dresses that I’m surprised nobody told the guys, at least for the shorter ones lol

*I think the guys should do this again with dresses that are picked specifically for them by stylists (that flatters them in shape, cut, color, etc). I love this video and I feel like it would be even better with coordinated outfits i.e. shoes, accessories, bags. The glasses and hat took Jared's outfits to another level.* ❤

Zach's organic, beautiful "IT ACTUALLY DOES HAVE POCKETS!?" moment was so funny I can't explain, especially after he complained earlier about having someone else hold his keys. It's one of the most exciting, staple experiences of dresses/skirts imo.

Jared is IT. He is the MOMENT. He is EVERYTHING. The accessories, the fit, the way he carried himself. I’m obsessed and I fully think he could and should mix dresses into his wardrobe bc he understands exactly what to do with them.

Favorite looks for each: Jared in the green and white dress, Johnny in the rich lady dress and Zach in the black dress with the x. Though I really loved seeing how excited and joyful Johnny got when he was wearing the selkie dress. Thank you for creating this video.

Zach is so self conscious about the deep V but I literally adored it on him. It like nicely framed his chest hair and honestly kind of made it feel intentional. If Zach isn’t down for the dress in his every day, I think he should do high waisted trousers with billowy, deep V blouses tucked in😍

I’m kinda shocked they didn’t wear shorts underneath 😂 I’m always wearing spandex shorts under a dress or skirt, mostly to avoid the bending over issue, but maybe that would’ve been uncomfortable for people with, ya know, more stuff to be scrunched up in that, who knows

Jared absolutely owned all these dresses. My favorite of Zach’s was the black dress for sure I think the shape worked extremely well and my favorite of Jonny’s was the pink dress the length was perfect and he honestly looked really good in the pink.

Yeah, us women have been wanting pockets in dresses for a while. If you find a dress that fits you with pockets, you've hit the jackpot. I'll find one once in a blue moon and it instantly becomes one of my favorites. I also prefer to have shorts on under dresses whenever possible.

Definitely think Zach wouldve had a better experience with different fits of dresses. He seems to like loose vibes but the dresses he picked are meant to be more form fitting. I think a tshirt dress would be great for him. Maxi or midi dresses would be comfortable if he could find some with sleeves. Maybe a halter top? I don't like low V's either and comfort is so obvious in how you wear stuff. Jared was so confident and I think that's why he rocked so many of them.

Jared looks like a ridiculously rich, unwed, childless, painter uncle with a designer home in the countryside, made with ethically sourced wood, and his robe costs more than your tuition.

Jared fuckin killed that green dress both with and without the undershirt, it fit him extremely well. The hat was a real nice touch. Johnny's white and gold dress would look absolutely killer with a corset or something, I felt the middle was just a tad boring (totally personal preference, he looked stunning either way). I really like how Zach styled the black dress with the camo jacket. Everyone can absolutely rock a dress when they feel like it

It would have been fun to see Zack and Jonny put a little more of their personnality into what they were wearing too (and also get more fitting dresses xD) though they did really well too! I love that Zack tried to layer and put over and under shirts. I think if he had tried a necklace or something around his neck for the deep V dresses it would have taken the empty/naked feeling away!

They all looked great, but Jared looked completely natural in the dresses he chose. I wouldn’t even bat an eye seeing him in public because the dresses fit him so well

Zach! I absolutely agree with you. Children’s clothes don’t have cut outs and once I didn’t fit in them it became SOOO hard to find clothes that don’t show cleavage. It’s gotten a lot better since but then-15 years ago it was almost impossible to find clothes that have cut outs smaller than a hand width down from the neck. A specially with fancy summer dresses!

It was so sad how unsupportive Jonnies Mum seemed. But it would still be kind of understandable if it was the first time she has seen him in a dress😢😢😮

I don't think I can summarize how much I love this I don't think I can summarize how much I love this video in just a few words so I'm sorry for the long essay. I do think they all look incredible, and a lot of people have opinions on how the dresses could have maybe been better styled. But, personally, I think all that matters is that they liked the dresses that they were wearing and that they felt comfortable wearing them. I think this highlighted really well a lot of what people go through, when they step out of their comfort zone and the backlash and judgment they may face from family members, partners, friends, and strangers. I won't lie when I myself first saw the guys trying on the dresses I was not entirely supportive and immediately came up with criticisms. I found that I was uncomfortable with seeing them wear it and not attempting in many other ways to look feminine. And then I found myself surprised that I felt that, who am I to judge what other people wear and enjoy wearing. At the end of the day it is just clothing. For the record I myself am genderqueer, and this made me realize that I am not as far in my open-mindedness as I thought I was.
I myself find dresses uncomfortable despite the fact that I am an AFAB person, for many of the same reasons that the guys in this video expressed. The unwanted attention, the fear of exposure, the lack of pockets, etc. At the end of the day I think that this is a really awesome thing that these guys did, stepping out of their comfort zone. As well as the steps that I've seen some big cis-het male celebrities take in wearing skirts & dresses. I hope that we will see more feminine clothing like this become less gendered as time goes on.

I’m actually really touched at Zach’s indignation, because I’ve had some horrible experiences with just walking around and expressing myself and I’ve talked to people about it and I usually get the “well you dress loudly”. I’m grateful that people who don’t normally have this experience are talking about it. It’s just nice to have someone validate how upsetting the experience can be from someone on the “outside”
